Washing

Follow the instructions from the sewn – in label. You can use a washing machine setting the temperature under 40 °C and gentle washing program. It is recommended not to use fabric conditioner or to soak the clothes before washing in any solution. You can iron the clothes according to symbol on the label. If you use spin speed lower than 500 revolutions per minute ironing usually isn’t necessary. After several washing (2-3) you can refresh waterproofness with use one of the recommended impregnation detergents.

Hand washing

Generally, it is uncertain, that the detergent will be completely dissolved when preparing the solution for hand washing. It also happened that some customers put the clothes into a bath and sprinkled it with detergent. This is regrettably very harmful for the color of the material. It doesn’t mean that handwashing is forbidden. If you respect washing instructions and use liquid detergents that are intended for hand washing no problems should occur.

Materials and fabric conditioner

Fabric conditioners usually damage waterproof adjustment of the material. It can also happen that stains appear, especially after hand washing.

Membrane clothes washing

We recommend you use special washing detergents e.g. TECH WASCH produced by Nikwax, or Extreme Cleaner and Extreme Superpruf by Grangers. Always follow the producer instructions.

Impregnation

It is possible to impregnate all the clothes in case that even in soft rain causes soaking of water into the material. Anyway it is hard to set number of washing processes or exact period to make impregnation necessary.

Proper tent care

It is important to build the tent on a site cleared from sharp objects that could damage the floor or to use suitable cover under the floor. It is recommended to step only on an isolation layer or mattress. A floor made of polyurethane in not suitable for use in low temperatures. It can become fragile and could be damaged by packing. The tent should be dry when being packed. If not, it is necessary to unpack it and dry it ASAP. Regular servicing by impregnation detergents intended for tent can extend durability of the outer tent. Poles should be dry, clean and not exposed to enormous endurance. Connections of the poles should be treated with use of special conservation agent, which contains silicon und doesn’t damage other materials used.

Sleeping bag care

The best way of storing a sleeping bag is to unpack it and possibly hang it in a dark and dry place. The sleeping bag should be as dry as possible. It is important to ventilate it and keep it dry when it isn’t used. Sleeping bags made of manmade fabric or down should be handwashed in special washing detergents (e.g. from Nikwax, Atsko, Grangers, ect.). After washing rinse the sleeping bag thoroughly. It is also possible to use impregnation detergents from the producers mentioned above. When drying lay the sleeping bag in vertical position, let water drain away and occasionally shake especially with the down ones.
