Sport’s club Drča started with a small film festival two years ago, which began like side event of freeride skiing and snowboard competition in Bovec. Bovec is very attractive place in the middle of Slovenian mountains and especially famous by unique river called Soča. Bovec outdoor film festival-BOFF has been organized in the last two winters as one day lasting event. The first time it was hosted in Hotel Alp in center of Bovec and very well accepted by the audience. So next edition moved in Cultural house of Bovec town. After good visit and media’s interest we decided to organize two day lasting festival. Last winter we collaborated with Ljubljana’s KinoDvor, famous art and noncommercial screening place in Slovenian capital city, Ljubljana. We are looking forward to continue with that cooperation.

The visitors and members of Bovec community were also interested in two days long film festival. Therefore we decided the next edition of festival will take part on 29.-30. December 2009. According to holiday’s time and the fact that Bovec town has been visited every year, also as a popular place to celebrate new year, BOFF will be an excellent alternative for entertainment and fun for the visitors of Bovec. The festival will also have some side events, like lectures, sport’s competition and art performance, all in interest of people coming for a visit to feel the winter pulse in Bovec.

BOFF is international movie festival located in attractive Bovec, which is settled in north/west corner of Slovenia. Different outdoor movies, as well as short sport and documentary movies are performed. The third edition will also display movies from nature, environment and ecology.

Our main goal is to offer quality repertoire of movies and lectures for viewers. Our audience is mostly young population with experiences from wide aspect of sports, also topics of movies screened on BOFF. Spectators will see movies and lectures about; mountaineering, freeclimbing, ice climbing, kayaking, mountainbiking, windsurfing, wavesurfing, kitesurfing, hang-gliding, paragliding, skydiving, B.A.S.E. jumping, caving, canyoning, skiing, snowboarding, telemark skiing, trekking, skating, diving, slackline. The third edition of BOFF will give chance to present movies and authors who create motion pictures from the fields of animal’s life, tradition of living and creating of our living spaces and ecology. Beauties of our planet will be presented in different ways; special attention will be set on actual problems, surrounding us and our landscape. Many of them have appeared because of our fault.

The Jury will select movies for commercial applications and marketing production as a special category. In this part of BOFF we will show movies from uncompetitive class.

We anticipate the pleasure of new Authors, who should send us the entry form for BOFF in regular time.

The movies will be selected in three (3) categories:

• Sport and action (competition),
• Nature and environment (competition),
• Special division; commercial application, (no competition part)
  

Main goal and purpose of BOFF is presenting the sport, as well as making promotion for healthy life, social gathering and giving inspiration for creativity. Most of all those who visit Bovec are also athletes and ambassadors of those sports, so the program BOFF offers should give a new aspect of sport, as well. The festival is international and it will be a pleasure to see the authors from foreign countries. Besides that the promotion of destination of excellence Bovec – Doline navdiha – The valleys of inspiration is also one of the purposes of this event. The organizer’s goal is to turn BOFF into international and recognizable brand and festival with tradition.

To be bigger and more attractive for mainstream public is necessary to add some side events, like exhibitions, fairs, lectures, sport competitions, etc. More in Events.
