Rocky Camp – a step forward the next year
More than 50 participants spent a long weekend with experienced mountain guides in Austria climbing the peak of Predigtstuhl in the Alps part of Dachstein. The event called Hannah Rocky Camp Dachstein 2006 was organized by the travel agency ALPY, who promotes a membership in Austrian Alpenrevier. The company Hannah Czech a.s. and the magazine lidé-HORY also provided organizational support.
Hannah Rocky Camp Dachstein 2006 took place between 15th and 18th July. The event was successful and participants were interested in next year. “Right after the camp they started to call and ask for the next one. There are also suggestions to organize similar camp in winter focused on ski tours and skialps.” says Ladislav Jirasko, the general organizer of the Rocky Camp.
“We do want to cooperate on the next Rocky Camp. We really intend to support the event and we are also interested in feedback,“ adds Filip Komorous, the marketing manager of the Hannah Czech a.s.
Hannah Czech a.s. was the general partner of the camp and also provided tents for accommodation. The participant had a pretty good chance to test them in unstable weather in the Alps. There were 11 basic tents of all categories including the expedition specials Expedition II and Vertigo II. Hannah Czech a.s. also provided the mountain guides for climbing in extreme conditions – they had Marvel jacket, Steeper pants and technical underwear Cantus and Wicky.
The group was climbing in the Dachstein area and at the cliffs of Ewige Wand, Predigtstuhl, Donnerkogel, Seewand and Goiserer Leadership Steig. The particular secured ways were from 250 to 1200 meters long with the superelevation between 100 and 800 meters. There were different levels of difficulty – from A to E. Even experienced climbers were satisfied to succeed on ways between III. and VI. grades of UIAA.
The program was completed by explanation and training of ferrates climbing. There were ten mountain guides from the Outdoor leadership company – one for each group of six or nine.
Even the founder of Outdoor leadership – Heli Putz was present there. He works as a trainer of outdoor sports and mountain guides and also a state registered mountain guide. He is a very experienced and skilled trainer / instructor in this field. He is also an organizer of important world cup events in extreme sports. He is involved not only in climbing and skialps but also paragliding, snowboarding, canoeing and other activities.
